At Least 8 Dead in Egypt
CAIRO: At least eight people were killed in clashes with security forces across Egypt on Friday as nationwide anti-government protests raged for a fourth straight day, medics and witnesses told media.

At least five people were killed in the capital where tens of thousands poured into the streets after the weekly Muslim prayers to demand the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak.

"Until now, five people are dead and several hundred have been injured," a medic told media as more wounded were being ferried into Qasr al-Aini hospital in central Cairo. The toll applied to those at Qasr al-Aini hospital alone.

In the Nile Delta city of Mansura, witnesses told media that two people were killed after being shot by rubber bullets during protests in the centre in the city.

A protester was also killed earlier in the canal city of Suez during clashes with police during which trucks were torched and a police station overrun.
