Egyptians rally against Mubarak at UN headquarters News
NEW YORK: About 1,000 Egyptian-Americans staged a noisy rally outside the UN headquarters in New York on Saturday to back protests against President Hosni Mubarak in Egypt.
Men, women and children draped in the Egyptian flag at the rally chanted slogans demanding Mubarak stand down.
"Egyptian blood is our blood" and "Freedom and Democracy in Egypt" said some of the banners.
The three-hour long rally was organised by Egyptian emigre groups. Smaller protests have also been held in the past two days outside the Egyptian consulate in New York and other parts of the city where many Egyptians live.
